Authentic, Code of Honor highlight Monday's graded stakes works

Kentucky Derby winner Authentic was made the 9-5 morning line favorite for Saturday's Preakness Stakes shortly after his bullet four-furlong drill at Churchill Downs on Monday morning for trainer Bob Baffert. Fellow Preakness contender Max Player worked four furlongs in :49.80 for Steve Asmussen, while Breeders' Cup Classic contenders Code of Honor and By My Standards put forth four-furlong works of their own.

Code of Honor (Noble Mission (GB)) a two time Grade 1 winner (2019 Jockey Club Gold Cup 2019 Travers) worked 4 furlongs in 48.4 at Belmont Park on Monday morning. It was the fifth fastest of 27 works at the distance. His previous work was 7 days ago going 5 furlongs at Belmont Park. In his last start he placed fourth in the Whitney (G1) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Saratoga on Aug. 1 for trainer Shug McGaughey.

Echo Town (Speightstown) a Grade 1 winner (2020 H. Allen Jerkens ) worked 3 furlongs in 38.4 at Churchill Downs on Monday morning. It was the only work at the distance.
