Breeders' Cup winner Aunt Pearl to rest up, aim for Royal Ascot
Aunt Pearl, undefeated winner of the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, will point to Royal Ascot after a few months of rest at Paul Sharp Stables, a 130-acre training and rehabilitation facility in Williston, Fla.
That's according to a Twitter post from BSW/Crow Bloodstock:
A trip to Royal Ascot for Aunt Pearl would likely include a date in the Group 1 Coronation Stakes for 3-year-old fillies going a flat mile.
Trained by Brad Cox, Aunt Pearl is undefeated in three starts this year. The Irish-bred daughter of Lope de Vega out of Matauri Pearl graduated on first try in September at Churchill Downs and then won the Grade 2 Jessamine at Keeneland in October.
Lope de Vega is an emerging European-based stallion who also sired Editor at Large, who finished seventh in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf in her second graded-stakes attempt; and Newspaperofrecord, who counts the 2018 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf among her four graded-stakes wins.
Aunt Pearl is owned by Michael Dubb, Madaket Stables LLC, Peter Deutsch, Michael E. Kisber, The Elkstone Group LLC (Stuart Grant) and Bethlehem Stables LLC.
Bred by Ecurie Des Charme and Ballylinch Stud, she was a $358,766 auction purchase by BSW Euro Venture at the 2019 Tattersalls October yearling sale.
