Multiple graded-stakes winner Art Collector will stand at Claiborne Farm when his racing career concludes.

A statement by Claiborne posted Wednesday on Twitter said the 5-year-old son of Bernardini out of the Distorted Humor mare Distorted Legacy will stand at the farm in Paris, Ky., when his racing career ends. It gave no indication, however, when that could occur.

Walker Hancock, managing director of Claiborne, said in a statement that Art Collector was raised at the farm for breeder Bruce Lunsford and will be a welcome addition to its stallion roster.

“We are thrilled to stand another exciting stallion prospect for longtime client Bruce Lunsford,” Hancock said. “Art Collector has the qualities we look for in a stallion and we believe he will be very well received among breeders upon his retirement from racing.”

Art Collector, who was conditioned early in his career by trainers Joe Sharp and Thomas Drury Jr. before being switched last year to the barn of Hall of Famer Bill Mott, has compiled a record of 20: 10-1-0 with earnings of more than $2.3 million.

His most notable victory to date was a gate-to-wire score over Maxfield in last year’s Woodward Stakes (G1). He last raced in the Lukas Classic early this month, checking in fifth, about 5 1/2 lengths behind Hot Rod Charlie.
