Arcangelo is scheduled to undergo surgery for a left hind short lateral condylar fracture after a consultation by Dr. Larry Bramlage.

The procedure was recommended to expedite the healing process and ensure his long-term soundness. The findings were made during precautionary radiographs that were performed after missing training and scratching from the Breeders’ Cup Classic.

“We expect a quick recovery and return to normal activities for Arcangelo. We do not anticipate this having any impact on his 2024 breeding season,” said Bill Farish of Lane's end.

Arcangelo arrived at Lane’s End in good order and will return to the Central Kentucky farm after the surgery to recover.

As reported earlier, Arcangelo will stand for a $35,000 fee.

The 3-year-old son of Arrogate out of the Tapit mare Modeling won three graded stakes this year, including the Belmont Stakes and Grade 1 Travers. Trained by Jena Antonucci, he has a career record of 6: 4-1-0 and earnings of $1,754,900.
