THIS year's surprise Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe heroine Solemia has been retired after finishing a lacklustre 13th of 17 in Sunday's Japan Cup.
The four-year-old filly is set for a trip to Darley's Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket next year.
"That was Solemia's last race," Pierre-Yves Bureau, the racing manager for her owner-breeders the Wertheimer brothers, told the French press. "She will now go to stud and she will visit Dubawi."
Solemia represents Wertheimer breeding on the top and bottom of her pedigree.
