Aqueduct deal could be in jeopardy

New York Governor David Paterson's office and officials from Aqueduct Entertainment Group say they are continuing to finalize a deal for Aqueduct's gaming contract.
Some in the racing and breeding industries, however, are concerned Paterson's decision not to seek re-election could stall the process indefinitely.
Paterson, trailing badly in the polls, announced on Friday that he would not seek a full four-year term in November despite previous pledges not to step aside. He has been under heavy pressure from fellow Democrats not to run and his administration has been plagued the past two weeks by a scandal involving the alleged improper use of state police.
