Another horse is out of Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint
Already carrying a short field led by heavy favorite Gamine, the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint lost one of its seven pre-entered horses Saturday when it was announced Truth Hurts would not be put into Monday's draw.
The exit was confirmed in a matter-of-fact Tweet from the Breeders' Cup, which merely said, "Remove Truth Hurts."
The news was first reported by Daily Racing Form's David Grening, who said the 4-year-old Tonalist filly would stay in New York to race in Sunday's Pumpkin Pie Stakes at Belmont Park. Truth Hurts was installed at 6-1 on the morning line for the seven-horse race.

Co-owned and trained by Chad Summers, Truth Hurts snapped a seven-race losing streak in July, when he won the Perfect Sting at Belmont Park. He followed that during the summer with his first two starts in graded stakes, finishing fourth in the Honorable Miss Handicap (G2) and sixth in the Ballerina Handicap (G1), both at Saratoga.
Bovada showed Truth Hurts as a 100-1 long shot for the Juvenile Turf Sprint, the longest shot of any horse to be pre-entered in the Breeders' Cup.

Gamine, who won the Filly & Mare Sprint last year on her way to becoming the champion in her division, established herself as a 5-8 (minus-165) favorite at Bovada. Bella Sofia (3-1), Ce Ce (11-2), Edgeway (11-1), Estilo Talentoso (20-1) and Proud Emma (40-1) were the other horses who were pre-entered for next Saturday's race.
The Breeders' Cup draw starts Monday at 5:30 p.m. EDT at Del Mar. It will be streamed live at BreedersCup.com.
