Amazombie took advantage of a contested pace and wore down Force Freeze in Saturday's Breeders' Cup Sprint at Churchill Downs.

Eoroears was hustled along on the rail and battled for early supremacy with Giant Ryan and Force Freeze, who took over and appeared home free turning for home.

Amazombie was always traveling well under Mike Smith and had dead aim on Force Freeze, who refused to yield under Johnny V but couldn't quite match late strides with the eventual winner.

Race favorite Jackson Bend was never a serious factor while landing the show. Hamazing Destiny nipped Aikenite to round out the superfecta.

A 5-year-old California-bred gelded son of Northern Afleet, Amazombie paid $17.80 to win for trainer Bill Spawr.
