Always in a Tiz will not run in Saturday’s Grade 1, $1 million Belmont Stakes on June 8 at Belmont Park and instead will compete in the $150,000 Easy Goer Stakes on the undercard, according to The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) racing office.

Trained by Dominick Schettino for owners Brooklyn Boyz Stable and MeB Stables, Always in a Tiz has one win in five starts and was ninth in the Grade 1 Wood Memorial on April 6 at Aqueduct Racetrack in his most recent start.

With Always in a Tiz out of consideration for the Belmont Stakes, the racing office says 14 horses are likely to enter in the 1 ½-mile race. The last time there were 14 starters in the Belmont Stakes was 1996. NYRA will use a single starting gate if 14 or fewer horses compete in the race.
