Only four horses remain active from the 2018 Derby. Of those, the most recent update comes from Firenze Fire, who finished second in the Forego (G1) on Aug. 28 after attempting to savage eventual winner Yaupon.

The last remaining horse from the 2016 or 2017 Derbies was Whitmore, who finished 19th in 2016. The 2020 sprint champion recently retired after the Forego and will have a stakes named for him at Oaklawn Park
