Team Valor International’s Allaboutcaroline battled three-wide around the turn before taking command at the top of the straight and holding off all challengers to capture the $42,000 allowance/optional claiming feature at Monmouth Park on Friday by a length.

Trained by Richard Mettee, Allaboutcaroline went the five furlongs over firm turf in :55 4/5 and returned $4.40, $2.80 and $2.60 as the second choice in the field of five fillies and mares.  Previous Honor rallied to complete the $33.20 exacta and paid $7.60 and $4.60.  It was another length back to Danalake, who paid $4.40 to show.  Perfect Package, the post-time favorite who battled with the early leaders, finished fourth.

“She came out of the gate exactly like I thought she would,” said winning jockey Alex Cintron.  “We knew we had the one horse (Perfect Package) to beat.  She really improved a lot today from her last race.  She’s a very nice filly.”

A 4-year-old daughter of Value Plus from the Gold Alert mare Goldleafed Mirror, Allaboutcaroline has won three of her nine lifetime starts.
