Seven flashy juvenile fillies will collide in the Grade 1, $600,000 Alcibiades Stakes as the curtain rises on the fall meet at Keeneland this Friday.

Eight were entered in the Alcibiades, but The Queens M G will bypass this race for the Frizette Stakes at Belmont at the Big A on Saturday.

The Alcibiades sets up as a rematch between Spinaway Stakes (G1) winner Immersive and runner-up Quietside, but this race will be run on dirt at 1 1/16th-miles, 1 1/2-furlongs longer than that heat at Saratoga.

Post time for the Alcibiades, Race 9 of 10 on the Keeneland Opening Day program, is 5:16 p.m. EDT. FanDuel TV will have live coverage of the Kentucky Oaks 2025 prep.

Looking at the pace

The pace projector was calling for a spirited duel between Liam in the Dust and Quietside sandwiching The Queens M G, but the latter's defection could slow things down a bit. Sherbini is expected to set up shop at the back of the pack.

The Queens M G won't be the only stakes scratch on Friday's card at Keeneland. Graham Motion announced on Thursday that Correto will skip the Grade 2 Jessamine Stakes for two-year-old fillies on turf and instead run in the Miss Grillo (G2) at Belmont at the Big A on Sunday.

HRN's latest Prospect Watch column highlights the Friday debut of Scorpius, a full brother to 2021 Kentucky Derby winner Mandaloun.

There's lots to look forward to for fans and bettors at the Keeneland fall meet, with stakes purses getting a boost and intriguing new wagers on the menu. That includes Saturday's $1 Future Stars Pick 5, which includes five races for 2-year-olds that are part of the Breeders’ Cup challenge series.

If you plan on playing the Future Stars Pick 5, then you won't want to miss the latest edition of HorseCenter, which takes a deep dive into the Kentucky Derby 2025 preps.
