Acting Zippy takes Connally Cup

Front-running Acting Zippy broke quickly and scored a gate-to-wire win in the $300,00, Grade 3 Connally Turf Cup on Saturday night at Sam Houston Race Park.

For rider Robby Albarado, it was Connally win No. 3.

“I only come here once a year, and it’s always worth it,” said Albarado, whose base is the New Orleans Fair Grounds. “I love Sam Houston. It has one of the best grass courses in the country.”
