Acclamation Done for the Year

West Coast star Acclamation, winner of five straight races, including the TVG Pacific Classic (gr. I), won’t run again this year because of a foot problem, according to an Oct. 11 Daily Racing Form story.

Buddy Johnston of Old English Rancho revealed that heat in one of the 5-year-old bay horse’s feet has limited his recent activity.

“He isn’t in any real discomfort, but you know when you’ve got heat you’ve got something to worry about,” Johnston told the Form. “There are no factures, but even a bruised foot, like this appears to be, can cost you time. The last thing you’d want to have is a short horse for a mile-and-a-half race as tough as the (Emirates Airline) Breeders’ Cup Turf (gr. IT).”
