After being away from the races for nearly three months, Edward P. Evans' A Little Warm made his return in winning fashion in an overnight allowance at Delaware Park June 29.

With John Velazquez aboard, the 3-year-old son of Stormin Fever won by 2 1/4 lengths and returned $3.20 as the favorite in the field of four. The final time for 1 1/16 miles over a fast main track was 1:43.60.

“We did not feel our horse was a 100% going into the race today and for him to give us a performance like that and to fight as hard he did to beat a really nice horse, I think we have to be really happy and looking forward to his future,” said winning trainer Tony Dutrow. “I think right now, Mr. Evans is looking at the Jim Dandy (gr. II, July 31) at Saratoga for his next start.”
