7 American racetracks to bet this week; entries, post times

As the world around horse racing changes, this week the on-track offerings remain the same as a few dedicated tracks forge on, running behind closed doors and with enhanced safety measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Seven tracks -- five with Thoroughbred meets and two Quarter Horse circuits -- are scheduled to race this week, while wagering will also be offered for overseas events in Australia and Japan.

Domestically, cards are set at the following tracks into the weekend with first post time listed in Eastern. Click for entries and morning line odds.

• Among the highlights, Fonner Park in Nebraska will on Tuesday (Runza) and Wednesday (Dowd Mile) host a pair of stakes features. They attracted fields of nine and 10 runners, respectively.

• The first 2-year-old races of the season are set at Gulfstream Park, which will send the baby fillies 4 1/2 furlongs in Thursday's second race before the colts get their chance on Friday. Yes, trainer Wesley Ward has entries in both events.

• On Friday, Oaklawn Park hosts a pair of Arkansas-bred stakes for 3-year-olds. The Rainbow Miss runs as Race 5 before the Rainbow as Race 9.

• That same afternoon at Gulfstream, consider this one to watch: Chad Brown-trained Fortin Hill, who won races in October of 2018 and June of 2019 to start 2-for-2, makes his allowance return in the ninth race feature. We'll see if the former $575,000 purchase can hold it together for a campaign.
