'89 BC Turf Winner Prized to Old Friends

Old Friends announced Aug. 4 that Prized, the 1989 Breeders’ Cup Turf (gr. IT) winner and sire of Brass Hat, has joined their Thoroughbred retirement center.
Michael Blowen, president and founder of Old Friends in Georgetown, Ky., said the 25-year-old horse by Kris S—My Turbulent Miss, by My Dad George, arrived at the farm in excellent condition from Randy and John Funkhouser’s O’Sullivan Farms near Charles Town, W.V.
Bred by Florida’s Meadowbrook Farm, which campaigned him along with Clover Racing Stables and trainer Neil Drysdale, Prized won stakes on both the dirt and turf while totaling career earnings of $2,262,555.
