Saratoga is off turf Saturday; Derby & Troy will go next week
The New York Racing Association announced that Saturday's Grade 1, $600,000 Saratoga Derby Invitational and Grade 2, $300,000 Troy have been canceled due to heavy overnight rainfall. Both races will be moved to next Saturday. Entries will be taken Sunday and the races redrawn.
All of Saturday’s remaining turf races, have been moved off the turf. Those include race 1, race 4, The Lure Stakes in race 9 and race 13.
The sealed main track was rated sloppy for the opener and upgraded to muddy by race 4. Post times were updated for what became an 11-race card Saturday.

Any multi-race wagers that include race 7 and race 10 have been canceled and will be refunded.
The two-day all-turf Pick 5, which kicked off Friday with the Saratoga Oaks Invitational (G2) and National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame (G2) will pay out to all for the final three legs, namely the Saratoga Derby Invitational (G1), the Lure and the Troy (G2).
The Saratoga Derby Invitational and Troy will join a card next Saturday that also includes the $500,000 Fourstardave (G1), a win-and-you're-in qualifier for the Breeders’ Cup Mile on Nov. 2 at Del Mar, as well as the $200,000 Saratoga Special (G2) and the $150,000 Galway.
