3 longshots you can't ignore in Saturday's stakes races
Handicapper Jarrod Horak (@jchorak) gives out his top stakes longshots for Saturday stakes running coast to coast:
$200,000 Pebbles Stakes from Belmont Park (5:19 p.m.)
#8 DYNATAIL (12-1): Beat Saturday's rivals, Party Boat and Adorable Miss, in the Penn Oaks, and they have much lower odds on the morning line. The early/pressing type does some of her best work at one mile on turf (6-3-0-2) and jockey Paco Lopez got to know her Sept. 16 in a clear place finish in the $100,000 Hall of Fame at Parx.
Grade 1, $500,000 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup from Keeneland (5:30 p.m.)
#1 CON TE PARTIRO (30-1): The Wesley Ward trainee lands the inside post and gets the services of jockey Mike Smith. She beat 23 rivals including Grade 1 E. P. Taylor entrant Rain Goddess in the Sandringham Handicap at Ascot on June 21 and showed decent late interest in an OK 4th-place finish Aug. 19 in the Grade 1 Del Mar Oaks. The fresh, lightly raced closer has some upside and has been stabled at Keeneland for quite some time.
$100,000 California Distaff Handicap from Santa Anita Park (6:02 p.m.)
#3 BARBARA BEATRICE (6-1): Makes her first start in 10-plus months and has won three times off a layoff, including a downhill sprint last fall. The stretch threat might return running for the profitable Tiago Pereira/Phil D’Amato team. She usually offers wagering value.
