2020 Kentucky Derby odds: Structor's on the board in Las Vegas

With each weekly update of William Hill U.S.’ Kentucky Derby 2020 odds, the question followed: Where’s Structor?

The Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf winner, said to be bound for a dirt start since that Nov. 1 victory, was newly listed this week and promptly bet down from 150-1 on opening to 75-1.

Unfortunately, this coincided with news that the Chad Brown trainee experienced a setback that will prevent the Palace Malice colt from entering Saturday’s Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2) at Gulfstream Park. Brown told Horse Racing Nation he was expecting to speak Monday with Structor’s owners on next steps.

On the one hand, 75-1 is juicy for an unbeaten Breeders' Cup winner. On the other, that’s a short price for a Derby hopeful without dirt experience and no imminent plans to try it inside of 10 weeks out from the first Saturday in May.

Still, expect someone to bite, and for those odds to shorten up soon.

Elsewhere on the board, Holy Bull (G3) hero Tiz the Law remains the Derby futures favorite at 6-1; the Fountain of Youth favorite Dennis’ Moment is 8-1; and the unbeaten trio of Nadal, Maxfield and Thousand Words are each 10-1.

Charlatan, the latest Bob Baffert buzz horse to break his maiden on Feb. 16, sits at 12-1, already listed alongside the likes of stakes winners Authentic, Independence Hall and Sole Volante.

William Hill’s Derby futures can be played at its properties in Nevada. Find a full look at the board below. If it's not displaying, click here.
