2020 Kentucky Derby Future Wager opens; odds, free PPs
With 10 new interests since the first round of betting, Pool 2 of the 2020 Kentucky Derby Future Wager opened Friday and will run throughout a key weekend for horses eyeing a start on the first Saturday in May.
It's essentially assured that the Future Wager favorite will again be No. 24, "All Other 3-Year-Olds" representing any colt or gelding not listed as an individual. But Saturday's Sam F. Davis (G3) contender Independence Hall is 10-1 on the morning line and could rival the field should his record improve to 4-for-4 in Tampa Bay Downs' first prep.
Future Wager betting, available on track at Churchill Downs and through advanced deposit wager platforms, runs through 6 p.m. ET Sunday, minutes before post time for the San Vicente Stakes (G2) at Santa Anita Park. There, the 2-year-old champ/30-1 shot Storm the Court will be up against flashy maiden winner/12-1 Nadal.
Last weekend's Holy Bull (G3) winner Tiz the Law is the 8-1 individual morning line favorite with Dennis' Moment 12-1 and a slew of choices rated at 15-1 by Mike Battaglia.
Dates for the remaining 2020 Kentucky Derby future pools are March 6-8 and April 3-5. Before placing a Pool 2 bet, check out free past performances below, and see live Kentucky Derby Future Wager odds via Churchill Downs.
