With a two-day Pick Six carryover of $307,069 providing ample incentive, $1,545,029 in “new money” was wagered Saturday at Santa Anita, creating a massive total Pick Six pool of $1,852,098 by fourth race post time at 2:09 p.m., PST.
The fourth race, contested at one mile on turf, was won by Basinca, who was ridden by Flavien Prat and was moved up from second to first via a stewards inquiry.  Off at 4-1, Basinca paid $10.80 to win.

Santa Anita’s popular Pick Six, which includes a two dollar minimum wager, is conducted on the final six races each racing day.  After scratches, 64 horses were scheduled to contest the six race sequence, resulting in average field size for today’s Pick Six of just over 10 horses per race.
