$1.25 million Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge is open
Registration for Thoroughbred racing’s biggest live-money handicapping tournament, the 2022 Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge, opened Thursday.
The Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge, now in its 14th year, annually draws the top horseplayers from around North America and will crown the winner with the highest accumulated bankroll at the end of the two-day Breeders’ Cup. This year’s races will be held at Keeneland on Nov. 4 and 5.
The 2022 BCBC total cash prize pool is expected to be $1.25 million based upon a minimum of 500 players registered. Players may participate in the BCBC from Keeneland and official satellite locations at Gulfstream Park, Monmouth Park and Santa Anita Park. Players also may participate online at TVG.com, Xpressbet.com, NYRA Bets for non-New York state residents, 4NJBets.com for New Jersey residents and HPIbet.com for bettors in Canada.

Players may bet into the win, place, show, exacta, trifecta and daily-double pools with their $7,500 bankroll over the two days and 22 races and keep all monies earned from their betting.
“Top horseplayers wait all year for a chance to make big scores betting on the world’s best Thoroughbreds in the Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge, the ultimate test in live-money tournaments,” said BCBC tournament director Tim Schram said. “We’re very excited to again offer players the opportunity to participate live at Keeneland, at our satellite locations or with our wagering partners.”
Lifted by a $33,000 win wager on Knicks Go in the Breeders’ Cup Classic, Matt Miller of Chicago won at Del Mar in the 2021 BCBC, which featured a record 534 entrants. The tournament players generated a contest-record wagering handle of $6,920,092 betting all 22 races over the two-day program.
