ZATT on the Oaks
{{monthName}} {{day}}, {{year}} {{hour12}}:{{minuteTwoDigit}}{{dayPeriod}}
1. Dancinginherdreams (Tapit) John Ward - An unlikely #1 for many, but I saw her first two races … and I believe.
2. Awesome Feather (Awesome of Course) Chad Brown - Deserving champion in 2010 will probably need to continue to improve to repeat in 2011.
3. Turbulent Descent (Congrats) Mike Puype - The first time David Flores needs to ask this filly should be a telltale. Distance is a bit of a concern.
4. Kathmanblu (Bluegrass Cat) Ken McPeek - She looks good on any surface, but her performance on Churchill dirt was an eye-opener.
5. Royal Delta (Empire Maker) Bill Mott - Great looks, regal breading, and a smashing debut … can’t wait to see her in a stakes race.
6. R Heat Lightning (Trippi) Todd Pletcher - I’m not sure this one wants 9 furlongs, but she has run well every start, and kept top company in the process.
7. Dixie City (Dixie Union) Anthony Dutrow - Demoiselle romp proved she can handle the trip, question is whether she can handle better fillies.
8. Rigoletta (Concerto) Dan Hendricks - It’s a shame this one had to be put on the shelf, she may have been a real threat at the Breeders’ Cup.
9. Tell a Kelly (Tapit) John Sadler - After a dull BC, she returned to California and looked full of run down the lane. I still think there is more potential here.
10. Flash Mash (Smarty Jones) Michael Stidham- Maiden sprint at Keeneland and allowance sprint at Fair Grounds point this one out as a real talent.
11. Delightful Mary (Limehouse) Mark Casse - My longshot in the BC Juvenile Fillies ran well enough, but improvement is needed to be ranked higher.
12. A Z Warrior (Bernardini) Bob Baffert - Frizette win was sharp, but then Churchill was a disaster. I’ll wait and see how she returns.
13. Believe in A.P. (A.P. Indy) Rick Dutrow - Not good enough yet, but she has every right to be a late developer who puts it all together at three.
14. Big Tiz (Tiznow) Mark Glatt - Two straight losses in Southern California, but the Starlet was an improvement. Distance should not be an issue.
15. Sarah’s Secret (Leroidesanimaux) Kathy Walsh - I love the way she runs them down late. I’ll be eagerly awaiting her first stakes try.
16. Alexandra Rylee (Afleet Alex) Robert Reid - There is a new uprising in Philadelphia, and it has nothing to do with the Eagles.
17. Bouquet Booth (Flower Alley) Steve Margolis - Late rush at Delta Downs has put her on the map. She looks the part of a nice one.
18. Joyful Victory (Tapit) Anthony Dutrow - 5th in Breeders‘ Cup and 3rd in Frizette gets her on the list, but I wonder if she can do any better.
19. Seans Silverdancer (Najran) Lisa Merritt - Illinois bred miss is way too good for her competition at Hawthorne, for whatever that‘s worth.
20. May Day Rose (Rockport Harbor) Bob Baffert - Speedy filly had every chance in the Starlet, but was not quite good enough.
