Who Am I ???

Photo:

*Bred in Kentucky, I was shipped overseas, and ran my first season in England.

*Returning to America for my second season, I won five times that year split between turf and dirt.

*The combined winning margin of my first five wins on dirt averaged better than five lengths.

*In my second of five graded stakes wins in the States, I set a new track record.

*Known for my distance ability, I never won a race shorter than nine furlongs.

*Arguably my most important career victory came in my penultimate start.

*An American champion, my career lasted only three seasons, although I ran nearly 30 times.

*I won more races at Aqueduct than any other racetrack.

*My racing career ended with a narrow loss in the Jockey Club Gold Cup.

*My grandsire, sire, and my top son, were all well known champions inducted into the Hall of Fame.

*I lived into my twenties, and was buried at Claiborne Farm after my passing.

You should know by now … Who Am I ???
