Thanksgiving Wishes ... and Picks

On this day of appreciation, I wish each and every one you a very Happy Thanksgiving! I am thankful to have such a wonderful and loyal group of readers and friends as you. I am lucky enough to be spending the day with my wife Candice, daughter Kendra, and some of our family. I will also be thinking of the family and friends I cannot be with today. To them, and all of you … may your day and holiday weekend be filled with love, togetherness, and smiles.

And now, since this is a horse racing blog, some quick Thanksgiving Day picks …

Salutos Amigos in the Fall Highweight - It’s not always easy to bounce back from a trip out West, and a run in the Breeders’ Cup, but if he does, Salutos Amigos has a good record at Aqueduct, and all the ability needed to eat this field up like me with a turkey dinner.

Tiz Windy in the Falls City - Yes, I know Don’t Tell Sophia is a monster, and as of today, the top older dirt mare in the nation, but I am going to take a shot to beat the heavy favorite with a rapidly improving three-year-old. I think the daughter of Tiznow may be getting this good.

The Pizza Man in the Hollywood Turf Cup - Whether it is Del Mar or Hollywood, and despite the wide open nature of this field … Did you really expect me to pick anyone other than one of my Chicago favorites? 12-for-18 lifetime on turf, baby!

Enjoy your Thanksgiving, everyone!
