Gainesway Farm: A Visit with Racing Royalty (VIDEO)

There are so many great farms to visit in the bluegrass of Kentucky, but only one has Tapit. Because of the big horse, Gainesway Farm was an easy choice as a must visit. The leading sire in each of the last three years is definitely the star of the show at the picturesque and historic Lexington farm, but Gainesway is anything but a one stud pony.

They also have stallions like Empire Maker, who happily returned to the United States for the 2016 breeding season, after several years in Japan. The horse Bobby Frankel called 'the best he ever trained' is aptly named, and in my opinion, an important sire on the American breeding landscape. Needless to say, it's good to have the sire of Royal Delta, and grandsire of American Pharoah back in Kentucky.

Dripping with history, Gainesway currently has a wonderful mix of stallions. Sure there is plenty of speed within, but they also boast multiple sires of Belmont Stakes winners, as well as multiple Belmont Stakes winners themselves. In Tapit, Empire Maker, Afleet Alex, and Birdstone, this farm offers stallions who will not wilt at classic distances.
