Following Banned’s Saga on Twitter

Owned by Glen Hill Farm, trained by Tom Proctor, and ridden by Garrett Gomez, Banned is one of the best young turf horses in the nation. By the luck of the draw, I have been there in person for five out of his last seven races, which is something I cannot say about any other horse. In two of those races Banned was an impressive winner of a graded stakes, and in each of the other three, he certainly made his presence felt. I have developed a bond with Banned.

Today, and since Thursday, Banned is in a fight for his life.

My thoughts and prayers are obviously with Banned, and thankfully I have been able to closely keep track to his hour-to-hour status thanks to Twitter. Well, thanks to Twitter, and more specifically to Craig Bernick. The President of Glen Hill Farm, Bernick has been kind enough to constantly update his Twitter status to keep us informed of what is going on with Banned.

I will let Mr. Bernick's last eleven tweets tell the story...

I have never felt the importance of Twitter as much as I do right now … Godspeed Banned.
