ANGELA RENEE had to travel 2,811 and 1/16 miles to earn her first graded stakes victory, but it was all worth it as she showed her heels to the California contingent in the Chandelier Stakes.

In race ten at Santa Anita,  Angela Renee hustled out of post four and grabbed a close stalking position on the rail directly behind the pace setters SUNDAY SONNET   and  MANAHATTA.  After a first quarter in :23.08, Rafael Bejarano had a snug hold on the filly as Majestic Presence passed Angela Rene to challenge the leaders.  Passing the half mile pole in :46.97, Angela Renee started looking for running room.  She slipped to the outside rounding the far turn and set sail for home as the pace setters faded.    CONQUEST ECLIPSE   found running room late and tried to gain ground, but Angela Renee was too strong. The bay filly flashed under the wire in 1:43.45 about two lengths in front of Conquest Eclipse.  DANETTE  was third and MAJESTIC PRESENCE checked in fourth.  Angela Renee paid $7.20  $4.00 $3.20.

Angela Renee is a Siena Farms homebred by Bernardini out of Pilfer, making Angela Renee a full sister to Cigar Mile/Woodward hero To Honor And Serve.   In the winner’s circle, a Sennia Farms representative remarked that, “They brought her out ready to run. She's training well and thought it was a good spot for her.”

Previously, the well-bred filly finished second in the Adirondack Stakes (G2) and third in the Spinaway Stakes (G1).  Angela Renee will stay in California to prepare for a guaranteed spot in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies.
