Kentucky’s display of national champions not only spread into the world of college basketball, but the horse racing world as well. On Sunday, Churchill Downs proudly featured the champions of the 2012 Breeders’ Cup at a ceremony in the paddock. Wise Dan, Groupie Doll, Little Mike, and Fort Larned were all paraded through the paddock in front of a large crowd. HorseRacingNation was on hand to capture some of the most talented horses in 2012.
As for what’s next for these champions: trainer Charles Lopresti said Wise Dan could possibly be pointed for the Woodford at Churchill Downs after a winter's rest. Groupie Doll will also get the winter to relax, which she definitely deserves. 2012 Breeders’ Cup Classic Champion Fort Larned will get a rest and head to Gulfstream for the winter. Trainer Ian Wilkes said he could be pointed for the Stephen Foster, a race he finished 8th in last year.
