Derby Wars NHC Qualifier: October 28th
As the last week of October dawned, there was much to look forward to: Halloween, of course, but the Breeders' Cup also lurked right around the corner.
Throughout the course of the month Derby Wars has hosted three NHC Qualifiers, each one as exciting as the next.
Travis Reese has been making a name for himself as of late with two stong showings in the NHC Qualifier on 10/28 and the $15K Sunday Big Game on 10/23. Known as 'tsreese' on Derby Wars, Travis won $4,000 in the Sunday Big Game and a $6,500 NHC seat last Friday. Guess we'll be seeing Mr. Reese in Vegas!
Out of a field of 280, Travis ended up as the lone wolf atop the mountain with total earnings of $112.90. Mr. Reese hit seven out of 12 races on the card, including the last two to solidify the win. Travis' biggest strike on the day came on Wise Crossing in the eighth at Keeneland which paid $55.80 for the win-place format.
When asked about his handicapping style, Travis responded with "As far as how I handicap, my primary tool is Thoro-Graph. Jerry Brown does a great job with this product and it's really helped me take my handicapping to the next level."
To date, Mr. Reese has won multiple online tournaments, including the $15K Big Game which was his largest cash ever. Travis has also qualified for the NHC once before and is ecstatic about returning. Well done Travis!
