Turfway Park plays host to the Spiral Stakes every year. The winner receives 50 points and a guaranteed spot into the Kentucky Derby.

The Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance was on site and a sponsor of races.

In race 5, #9 Duffle Bag and jockey Cory Orm finished two lengths clear of the second place horse. Duffle Bag was the only horse in the race that was claimed.

In race 6, Copperplate, a gelded son of Curlin, won by 5 1/2 lengths. The gelding is raced by Pocket Aces Racing and trained by Susan Anderson.

Number 3, Montu, was the winner of the Rushaway Stakes at odds of 17-1.

Cool Arrow, a Joe Sharp trainee and workmate to Girvin, did not seem to care for the track, as he finished 7th of 8 as the second choice.

Montu (#3) finished ahead of Capture the Glory (#1) and Gorgeous Kitten (#6) in the Rushaway Stakes.

And they are off in the Bourbonette Oaks (GIII). Picture is Fun (#7), Delphina (#6), and China Grove (#5).

Purely A Dream (#10) pulls away from the field in the Bourbonette Oaks to win by 2 lengths, with Robby Albarado aboard at odds of 12-1. Awesome Boss (#9) finished second.

Fans enjoy the races with smiling faces!

Jockey Tyler Gaffalione rides Fast and Accurate to the wire. The pair will head to Louisville for a start in the Kentucky Derby.

Dr. Kendall Hansen celebrates while showing his colt some love. Dr. Hansen campaigned the colt's sire, Hansen, to a championship year in 2011.

After the stakes action died down, Cory Orm rode yet another winner in the 11th race. Ingadore (#2) is a son of Dominus and broke his maiden in only his second start.

After a long day of racing, many left winners, but some also left with only memories of their time and money spent.
