2016 Breeders' Cup - Horse Racing Nation Staff Picks
Horse Racing Nation staffers have put their heads together and shared their 2016 Breeders’ Cup selections. According to the group of twenty, California Chrome and Dortmund are the most likely winners of the weekend.
In the official track morning line, California Chrome is listed at 1-1 with Dortmund and Songbird both at odds of 6-5. The HRN picks show California Chrome and Dortmund as the most likely winners having been picked 13 times each. Those two were followed by Lady Eli with 10 votes along with Songbird and Ironicus, who were selected 8 times. With the scratch of Lord Nelson from the Sprint, A. P. Indian and Drefong became the co-favorite picks with 8 each.
The Turf Sprint was the most contentious race of the Breeders’ Cup. All but one of the field of 14 was chosen as the winner with Pure Sensation getting three votes followed by five other horses that were picked twice by the HRN staff. Both the Juvenile and the Juvenile Fillies were identified as very challenging races, also. In the Juvenile, Klimt, Classic Empire, and Not This Time were picked as the winner four times. In the Juvenile Fillies, Union Strike was the consensus top pick getting the nod only five times.
Please share your picks in the comment section and good luck with all of your selections during Breeders’ Cup weekend!
