2013 Eclipse Award Winners -- New York Style

The Eclipse Award voting is underway and most of the winners seem pretty clear. Instead let’s take a look at each division championship with New York Style. Here are my picks for each Eclipse Award if only New York horses were considered. Those would be horses that were stabled at a New York track with a New York trainer or had significant races in New York. For each division you will first find the likely Eclipse Award winner followed by the horses with the New York style.

Champion turf male: Wise Dan or Little Mike

Is it possible that the voters will concede the Horse of the Year award to Wise Dan and give this divisional honor to Little Mike?

When the championship honors are announced on the evening of Saturday, January 19^th at Gulfstream Park, the Eclipse Awards will have plenty of New York Style. It seems certain that seven winners of the year-end honors will be from New York.
