LeRoy Jolley once told People Magazine, in a story that ran during the 1970s, that "All I ever wanted to do was train horses. My dad was and still is one of the great horsemen in America. It’s the only world I know.”
He certainly accomplished that with a career highlighted by two Kentucky Derby wins and just as many Breeders' Cup victories. There was that time, too, when his fame transcended racing.
As the racing world remembers Jolley, who died this week at age 79, many a friend have posted his role in a Miller Lite commercial featuring Foolish Pleasure, the 1975 Derby winner, and Honest Pleasure, the next year's runner-up.
