Watch: In France, a racehorse really walked into a bar

Ever heard the one about the horse who walked into the bar? Well, the answer to that's no longer a punchline after it happened last week in France.

A saddled filly at the Chantilly Racecourse, which the last two years hosted the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (G1), threw her rider and bolted for the nearby bar.

It's an intense scene captured by security footage and published by the UK's Daily Mail. The newspaper coined it a "hilarious moment," but I'm willing to doubt horsemen and racing fans feel differently.

Seen with the tack on, she storms through the Pari Mutuel Urbain bar area -- it's a trackside venue -- brushing against tables and chairs.

Trainer
Jean-Marie Beguigne told a French newspaper that the filly -- who has seemingly remained anonymous -- "showed no trauma or anxiety" as a result of the incident, and none of the fleeing bar patrons were said to be injured.
