For now, they call him "the Prince." That will soon change.
Spendthrift Farm has opened a two-week competition for fans of champion mare Beholder to name her first son, an Uncle Mo colt born Jan. 23.
The rules are simple. Per championbeholder.com:
"Anything 18 characters or less can be submitted, you can include inspiration from dams name, the sires name, both, or neither. Be creative, the sky’s the limit! If there are multiple entries for the same name and it is picked by the panel of judges, there will be a blind drawing to determine the winner."
Word from HRN colleague Matt Shifman is he submitted "Mo to Behold." So try to top that before the contest closes Feb. 28.
