See it: American Pharoah, Justify pictured together for first time
There are the photos worth 1,000 words. And then there's this one that -- according to reports -- could be worth at least $100 million.
With Triple Crown winner American Pharoah back at Coolmore's Ashford Stud in Lexington, Ky., following the Southern Hemisphere's breeding season spent in Australia, the farm took advantage Saturday.
Pharoah, whose sweep of the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes came in 2015, posed with his younger counterpart Justify, who will also stand at stud there beginning next year.
Justify's breeding rights were said to be worth $75 million to Coolmore. While owner Ahmed Zayat's deal with the worldwide racing and breeding operation was less transparent, we do know American Pharoah accumulates a reported $30 million per year in stud fees.
The latter will see his first runners on track next year as 2-year-olds. He stands for a private fee, while Justify is listed at $150,000.
Now, how about a match race?
