HorseCenter: Travers Stakes 2019 picks and preview

Photo: Eclipse Sportswire

This week on HorseCenter, your co-hosts Brian Zipse and Matt Shifman offer full-field analysis of the summer's biggest race, the Travers Stakes, as well as a look at the best of a loaded Saratoga undercard including five other Grade 1 events.

The Travers, of course, attracted a field of 12 with Tacitus named as the 5-2 morning line favorite. But neither of the guys landed on him as his top choice.

A closer look at the matchup between the two top older females Midnight Bisou and Elate in the Personal Ensign is included, and once again the sprinters are going to be worth watching as the Shancelot returns to the Spa for the Allen Jerkens, and Mitole will try and get back to the winner’s circle in the Forego.

Best of luck with your Travers day wagers and, as always, thanks for tuning into HorseCenter.
