HorseCenter: Best of horse racing in 2024 from Zipse, Shifman

Photo:

This week on HorseCenter, Brian Zipse and Matt Shifman look back at the very best of 2024 in horse racing led by Thorpedo Anna, Sierra Leone and Fierceness. This week's show includes seasonal top moments, top trainers, top jockeys and favorites of the non-champions. Your hosts also look ahead to the 2025 season with all the horses they most look forward to seeing run again.

The 3-year-olds dominated the headlines in 2024. Thorpedo Anna led the way with her victories in the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks and the Breeders’ Cup Distaff. Sierra Leone ran in big races throughout the year ending with his Breeders’ Cup Classic victory. Fierceness fulfilled his promise with big wins at Saratoga that included the Travers (G1).

There are plenty of fantastic photographs in this week’s show to enjoy from a great year of racing in 2024. Thanks to all of you for being part of another year of HorseCenter.
