HorseCenter: Analysis and picks for Ohio Derby, Mother Goose

This week on HorseCenter, your hosts Brian Zipse and Matt Shifman offer analysis and picks for the weekend's top races – the Ohio Derby (G3) from Thistledown and the
Mother Goose (G2) from Belmont Park.

The nine-furlong, $500,000 Ohio Derby attracted a quality field of 3-year-olds with three that ran in the Kentucky Derby – Classic Causeway, Tawny Port and White Abarrio. Ethereal Road is the recent winner of the Sir Barton for D. Wayne Lukas and Barese is a New York-bred who won his first three starts before finishing fifth in the Wood Memorial (G2).

In New York, the historic Mother Goose drew a small field, coming just two weeks after the Acorn (G1) and a few weeks before the Coaching Club American Oaks (G1) at Saratoga. Still, all five fillies are stakes winners and come from top trainers such as Chad Brown, Todd Pletcher and Brad Cox.

Enjoy the 3-year-old racing this weekend and, as always, thanks for watching the show.
