HorseCenter: Santa Anita opening day analysis and picks

This week on HorseCenter, your hosts Brian Zipse and Matt Shifman dive into the big opening-day card at Santa Anita on the day after Christmas with analysis and top picks for the Grade 1 Malibu and La Brea.

The seven-furlong $300,000 Malibu features Bob Baffert’s Taiba, who will try to win his third Grade 1 of the year and become a legitimate candidate for championship honors in the 3-year-old male division.

The $300,000 LaBrea for the 3-year-old fillies is also run at seven furlongs. This field of eight includes four horses from the Baffert barn, with Midnight Memories and Fun To Dream as the top choices.

Matt and Brian wish all of our loyal viewers happy holidays and good luck with these final big races of 2022 and, as always, thanks for watching the show.
