HorseCenter: Preakness, Black-Eyed Susan picks and plays

This week on HorseCenter your hosts Brian Zipse and Matt Shifman set their sights on the second leg of the Triple Crown as Mage attempts to repeat his Kentucky Derby glory with a win in the Preakness. The guys also check in on the fillies for Friday's Grade 2 Black-Eyed Susan.

Mage will attempt to become the eighth Kentucky Derby winner to get a Preakness victory since 2000. This year’s field drew a field of eight 3-year-olds, and Mage is the only horse to enter from the run for the roses.

Bob Baffert returns to Triple Crown competition for the first time in a few years with National Treasure, who will try to give the trainer a record eighth victory in the Preakness.

The Black-Eyed Susan on Friday drew a field of 12 3-year-old fillies, with Faiza listed as a heavy morning-line favorite. Faiza will ship east for the first time with an undefeated record in five starts for Baffert. The West Coast filly has four graded-stakes victories to go with her maiden win.

At the end of the show, Matt and Brian offer their top picks and suggested wagers for the two big races on Friday and Saturday at Pimlico in Baltimore. Good luck this weekend and, as always, thanks for watching the show.
