This week on HorseCenter, co-hosts Brian Zipse and Matt Shifman take an in-depth early look at the Pegasus World Cup six weeks out from America's richest race.

The Jan. 25 renewal at Gulfstream Park follows the first three runnings won by Arrogate, Gun Runner and City of Light, who all were coming off wins in the Breeders' Cup.

Maximum Security, Omaha Beach and, possibly, Tom’s d’Etat are the current headliners for the field, which goes 1 1/8 miles for a share of $9 million in prize money. Two of those three are expected to race throughout 2020, potentially setting new Pegasus precedent.

HorseCenter will have plenty to say about the big race over the next couple of months, but get started with this guide to the key players. And as always, thanks for watching the show.
