HorseCenter: Lecomte and Louisiana selections

This week on HorseCenter, your hosts Brian Zipse and Matt Shifman offer picks and analysis for three races from Fair Grounds, starting with the Lecomte, a 2022 Kentucky Derby trail race. The Louisiana Stakes, featuring the return of Mandaloun, and the Silverbulletday are also handicapped on this week's show.

In the Lecomte, Pappacap and Epicenter lead a field of nine 3-year-olds who kick off the 2022 Kentucky Derby prep races at Fair Grounds Race Course in New Orleans.

Mandaloun and Midnight Bourbon renew their rivalry in the Louisiana as they make their debuts as 4-year-olds. Last year as 3-year-olds they met five times, with Mandaloun holding a 3 to 2 edge.

The fillies face off in the Silverbulletday, which serves as a prep race for the 2022 Kentucky Oaks. La Crete, a half-sister to Clairiere, was an impressive debut winner and is the horse to beat.

Good luck with your wagering weekend and, as always, thanks for watching the show.
