HorseCenter: Top Kentucky Derby longshots, pace projection

This week on HorseCenter, hosts Brian Zipse and Matt Shifman discuss their belief in the old handicapping adage that pace makes the race.

In the first segment of the show the guys discuss the Kentucky Derby’s likely early makeup, grouping all 20 horses according to their likely positions.

Where will, for instance, the front-running Florida Derby (G1) winner Maximum Security fit into the pace projection?

Then Matt and Brian offer up their five Derby longshots, all on horses whose odds should be 20-1 or higher, to consider using in exactas, trifectas, and superfectas.
