HorseCenter: Kentucky Derby long shots + Lexington picks

Photo:

This week on HorseCenter, Brian Zipse and Matt Shifman uncover horses who might run big in the 2024 Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks at attractive odds. Your hosts also provide analysis and top picks for the Derby trail’s final points race, the Grade 3 Lexington Stakes at Keeneland on Saturday.

With the completion of the Derby prep races, the field for the run for the roses is taking shape and it is time to start thinking about horses whom you want to consider in your wagers. Matt and Brian have identified some possible long shots to consider for the first Saturday in May.

The Lexington is the last chance for horses to get into the Derby field of 20. Ten horses were entered, led by the morning-line favorite The Wine Steward. He is joined by Hades, who, like the favorite, also won the first three races of his career.

Much more to come on HorseCenter as the Kentucky Derby is less than a month away. So, stay tuned and thanks for watching the show.
