HorseCenter: Kentucky Derby 2023 top 12 lists

Photo:

This week on HorseCenter, your hosts Brian Zipse and Matt Shifman run down their current rankings for the 2023 Kentucky Derby and discuss all the horses that made their top 12 lists.

Thirteen official points races have been run on the road to the Derby to finish the preps that offered the 10-4-3-2-1 points range. Matt and Brian have eight horses in common on their top 12 lists, which include stakes winners and 3-year-olds with promising maiden victories.

Where did Brian and Matt rank Forte, Curly Jack, Blazing Sevens, Jace’s Road and Instant Coffee, who are the top five horses in the official points list for the Derby?

Prominent on the lists of both of the guys are horses from trainers Brad Cox, Steve Asmussen and Todd Pletcher. But only one of their lists includes prospects from the barn of Bob Baffert.

HorseCenter continues to provide weekly coverage of the Kentucky Derby trail for your enjoyment. As always, thanks for watching the show.
