This week on HorseCenter your hosts Brian Zipse and Matt Shifman help you handicap Kentucky Derby 2023 by analyzing the expected pace. Your hosts also offer an early look at the 14 fillies expected to contest the Kentucky Oaks.

Matt and Brian will discuss the possible pace for this year’s Derby by taking a look at the HorseCenter pace scenario and the TimeformUS pace projector. The guys will analyze the running style of each of the 20 horses in the field while considering the history of the Derby winners since the points era began in 2013, when Orb closed from the back of the field to get the victory.

Next week, HorseCenter will present the most popular edition of the year, with the guys discussing the impact of the post-position draw, providing their picks to win and wagering tips for the Oaks and Derby weekend. See you during Derby week and, as always, thanks for watching the show.
