HorseCenter: Kentucky Derby pace projection + Apple Blossom

This week on HorseCenter, your hosts Brian Zipse and Matt Shifman analyze the probable pace scenario for Kentucky Derby 2022, grouping the expected field of 20 by their most likely running style. The guys also provide analysis and picks for Saturday's clash of champions in Oaklawn Park's $1 million, Grade 1 Apple Blossom.

In recent Derby history, the winners have been horses who raced as part of the early pace in the 10-furlong classic. To help with your handicapping of the Run for the Roses, Matt and Brian talk about the horses who are expected to fit that running style.

The Apple Blossom at Oaklawn Park drew a small but elite field, including four past winners of Grade 1 stakes and two champions from last year in Letruska and Ce Ce.

We appreciate how many of you have shared your thoughts about the Derby in the various comment sections. And, as always, thanks so much for watching the show and/or listening to the podcast.
